Freehand practice plate "just for fun"
I had a few extra minutes the other night, not ready for bed yet. So I just found a piece of scrap steel and did some freehand scrolls. No transfer. Of course, you can see that this doesn't always work. I ran out of room, and it did not finish centered on the piece. This is why well planned out transferred designs are a must. However, it was fun to just add to it, "leaf by leaf" and see what came of it. Try it sometime. It's fun.

Re: Freehand practice plate "just for fun"
That is a great way to spend the evening
Nothing on tv worht watching most times anyway. Some of my tools end up like freehand bits and pieces but alas not as nice as your one yet. Great freehand stuff my friend |

Re: Freehand practice plate "just for fun"
thanks Daniel. Just about The only TV I watch is Boston bruins hockey. Other than that... I almost never turn on the TV. I work at my tattoo studio until 10PM, and usually engrave until around 2AM or 3AM. No need for the tube.

Re: Freehand practice plate "just for fun"
Dave,
Sounds like my work schedule. For being totally unplanned, this piece came out really nice. So, have started selling scrollwork in your tattooing yet? |

Re: Freehand practice plate "just for fun"
Dave,
That would make a nice design for the facets of a revolver cylinder. Roger
