Hello from the UK
Hi,
This forum is made up of an inspiring collection of people. There is an fantastic level of generosity when it comes to sharing techniques and ideas. I've learned a great deal from the site over the past year and I like to say thanks. I am a jeweler working in the UK, I teach at postgraduate level on the MA course at the Royal College of art in London. I am not an engraver myself but I am keen to learn. Like many of the students we have at college one of the biggest hurdles to overcome is how to sharpen a tool correctly, the Lindsey sharpening system looks like a brilliant solution to the problem and I can't wait to give it a try - and hopefully introduce the method to students too. Thanks Dave |

Re: Hello from the UK
Hi Dave,
My name is Simon & I'm based just outside London, 1hour into town from here. I'm a full time engraver & I use Steve's Palm control tool & now I use his sharpening system. If you'd like to have a try with either send me a private message & we can arrange something. I will be away until the end of September, but I'll get back to you if you leave a message for me. Welcome to the Forum. Simon. |

Re: Hello from the UK
Dave,
Welcome to the forum. Like Simon, I am a long time engraver who has used all methods of cutting and sharpening. I also have transitioned to the Lindsay PalmCoonrol and Lindsay sharpening system. They are both top flight in my opinion and worth every penny (or should I say pence). Roger
