Default thinking about dogs

I have been doing a lot of thinking about dogs lately. I have decided that when God was interviewing his animals, asking each one what they expected from life. He asked the dog this same question. The dog said that he did not expect great things, only to live in comfort without too much effort on his part. He did not want a large home to care for or fancy foods. nor did he want to have to flush or clean toilets. He would be quite content to eat out of the same dish and eat the same food each day as long as he was warm in the winter, did not have to stand out in the pouring rain waiting for a bus to take him to a job and had a shady spot in the heat of summer.
God thought for a moment and told the dog “I think you would do well to become a mascot for humans”. The dog being a cautious creature asked what the work of being a mascot entailed. God replied,” All you have to do is bark when a stranger enters his home, wag your tail when they come home, lift a paw when you are hungry and whine a bit when you are cold. You can defecate and urinate where it pleases you the human will clean up your mess .And if you befriend mans children his wife will make you a royal member of the household.”The dog thought for a moment and asked.”God if I take the position of mascot. Will I be able to become a Democrat as well?
Strange where the mind wanders

Hey Micheal
Nice to hear from you.We are fine here in Italy.
No I did not get a E/mail about tools.
The very best thing about dogs is that you never have to tell them a lie.

Yep, and they love you in spite of yourself! Wish I had room for a "garage" dog, but we live in town on a busy street, plus we're gone too much to have one. Still miss my dogs.
