That is beautiful! I just started engraving on a spyderco police model myself and am surprised at how easy it cut. I hope mine comes out half as nice as this one!

Dennis' Really beautiful work.I've been engraving those Spydercos for about 15 years in the Western bright-cut scroll style for cowboy/ropers but I really want to move forward to the style you show here.My question is ,what classes or methods of study helped to get you to this point. I am aware of GRSclasses, books and some videos but would like to know how you got started.Mainly tranfering patterns and shading are giving me the most trouble. If I have a pattern,I can cut it. Thanks,Dale

I am a bench jeweler by trade. After a few years of trying to teach myself to engrave scroll, I took a begining engraving from Sam Alfano then went back and took a class on layout and design from Lee Griffiths. Also got Ron Smiths Book on scrolls.I would highly recomend you take a class,I am NOT saying that you should take these classes but to look at all of the options available to you .It will help you progress much faster then trying to do it by yourself.
