Default Carving a classic style Hobo Nickel




Hello I show a video that I have done on as I carving hobo nickels, does not want to be a didactic video simply is my way to work, I hope it will aid beginners carvers,the video is very long so little by little I will be upload and putting the parts, since it is recorded almost in real time of execution.

At the end of the last video will be a little list of all the tools that i have used....i use the Lindsay Airgraver Classic with foot control.

yes i use in this case 30 psi and the regulation of the collar in the medium or large strokes

the punch for sculpting is a hss square graver blank sharpened with the lindsay round stippling template , the point of the punch is a very little (1 mm) 180 degree face picked in the diamond stone,i hope can post the lasts 2 parts tonight .

Thank you SEngraver,this is a very simple carving,a classic subject,make for a little demostrations i preferre carve "my monsters" just yesterday i have carved the last one for a private sale " The Bigfoot"

How long does it take you to carve a nickel for example the one you made a video on ?

the video is +/- in real time maybe 1 hour or little more to make it,others ones depend of the subject,if is easy or not ,if have inlay or not,can takes 4,6 or 8 hours its depend.

Uploaded the last one video ,the tutorial is complete now

How to make this videos? is easy ,but i use apple Imac,and the program Imovie, is very easy to use,the cam is the same that you have that you have reccomend me
