Default Re: Work in progress on kershaw leek

Sarah that looks really nice, especially as your first knife! How did the Kershaw Leek stainless handle cut? Two years ago, a knife collector advised me to buy a Kershaw for hand engraving since those are (collectable) quality knives with an engravable stainless handle, on the Kershaw website I read: Handle Material 410 stainless steel (bead blasted finish). First I tried a small test on the backside with clip, wanted to cut my logo into a corner. I used my hardest carbalt graver for this test, it felt impossible to engrave. Maybe both sides of the handles are made of two different alloys, or it's just the bead blasted surface?
