Default G'day from Australia

Hi all !!

My name is Jayson ,

I found this forum through google searches to be honest and it seems like there are some very nice and knowledgable people on here

Like everyone I come to you with a newly found hobby and project .

I am hobby to acid etch a wrestling belt .

I have asked a few people and they have confirmed that all plates are etched or casted.

I recently attempted to try it with a uv neg film , a design stainless steel ( I'm pretty sure it was ) and I poured ferric chloride into a container and left it in there .

Now the lady at the etching supplies shop said just to pour ferric chloride straight in but now it seems like I was meant to mix it with water is this correct ?

I've been told to use a zinc sheet about 4mm thick and nitric acid but we don't have zinc sheets in Aus . So I was thinking brass copper or aluminum .

The ideally needs to be 4 mm think and I need a nice deep etch .

I've attached a picture of what I'm trying to achieve any help would be awesome !!!
