Hi, I'm Nicolle and just wanted to say that I am in awe of all of your talents!
I live in NYC and work full time as a Highway inspector/Office Engineer.
In my spare time I have been selling hand stamped jewelry and chainmaille designs for the past year or so, for some a little added income.
It seems a lot of people are jumping on the hand stamping craze and it's getting to be a very saturated market. In addition, it's not fulfilling for me...need to do something a bit more artistic.
I had purchase a high speed engraver a few years ago to do glass engraving,(always searching to learn something new) but for some reason..never really got into it and packed away it away. I recently decided to unpack the engraver and try engraving metal (sterling). While it's OK to trace designs, it's not thrilling me either...no orginality, no skill being learn, no artist outlet.
That is how I stumbled open this forum and engraver website and so glad I dd!
I just put an order in with Steve for the starter kit and very excited to begin my new endeavor! I have "the art of engraving" book and just purchased templates to practice drawing scrolls. So, even though I am starting small..I just can't wait!
