It is not bulino but!

One day when I was learning to engrave my teacher Giulio Timpini showed me how to use a liner tool to shade more than a leaf in a scroll.
His comment was “This is much faster but it is not true bulino.”
I have my ticket booked with Delta and will arrive in Atlanta on the June 8th at 5pm.
I will be bringing this print and this Zippo that is rapidly becoming a victim of the salty air and will donate them onsite to Scott’s Auction.
I have been keeping this print as a memento however it is going to be ruined in this humid environment and needs a new home.

Thanks for showing these Joseph. It is possible to do beautiful work without using bulino techniques. Not everything has to be photorealistic to be great art.

I my work, I have to use many "shortcuts" when doing animals. The budget, and the 19th century American engraving I am attempting to recreate, don't allow for true bulino. I need to spend more time on true lne engraving. Some of that 19th century work is better than I used to give it credit for.

I often use the airgraver and stipple using a square graver, letting the heel impact the metal instead of the tip. This will give you many short little lines in a hurry!

Thanks Tom I have often wondered how a lined tool would work with Steves fine eguipment
it seems to me that one could eliminate the vise, hold the work in one hand and shade with the other as it requires little pressure to make the tool cut.
Paulius how about a one leg horse and a two legged Bison?
